Monica: Still Standing, Still Here

Singer Monica (29) is on the scence and is talking about her television show, Monica: Still Standing on BET, and doing promotions like crazy.

While recently dishing to Rodney Ho of Access Atlanta she stated this:

“I didn’t want a show filled with a lot of drama,” she explained over a burger and fries at the Glenn Hotel downtown last week to promote the finale of her BET show “Monica: Still Standing.” “I wanted a show to remind a lot of young people that you can make it through anything if you believe first in yourself.”

Do you hear that Fantasia??? **snicker*** All I can say is that other singing reality stars have recently learned their lesson the hard way about how family can get in the way and block a blessing. Thankfully Monica is remaining focused while balancing career and family life almost effortlessly. Monica also alludes to in the article her thoughts on gossip blogs, reality shows in general. I must admit, that as the years have gone on, I've become more and more a fan of hers but initially thought she looked a bit "too grown" when she first came out at 15, but that's just me. She can sing and is driven and is a loving mother of two, so at the end of the day that's all that matters.
